Amanina is operated by Mama Hala Consulting Group. This policy explains how paid plans are billed, how they renew, how to cancel, and when you are entitled to a refund. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

We've written this to be read, not endured. No traps, no dark patterns: you can begin for free, cancel in a couple of taps from inside the app, and you always see the price and the next renewal date before you confirm anything.

01Free to begin

You can join Amanina, build your profile, and use core features without paying. A subscription is optional and unlocks additional features. You are never charged unless you actively choose a paid plan and confirm the purchase.

02What you can pay for

Amanina offers the following paid options:

  • Gold — a recurring subscription, billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose at signup. Renews automatically each period until you cancel.
  • Family-Verified — a recurring subscription, billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose at signup. Renews automatically each period until you cancel.
  • Concierge — a fixed 90-day program, billed once. It does not auto-renew.

The price, currency, billing cadence (monthly, annual, or one-time), and the exact next-renewal date are always shown to you before you confirm a purchase. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.

03How billing works

Amanina is a web app (PWA). Paid plans are processed by Stripe, Inc. on behalf of Mama Hala Consulting Group. Billing runs directly through Stripe — not through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and is not subject to their rules.

We never see or store your full card details. Your card information is entered into and handled exclusively by Stripe, which states that it is a PCI-DSS Level 1 service provider. After each charge, Stripe sends a receipt to your email. (Stripe is a payment processor located in the United States; see our Privacy Policy for how this is handled.)

04Auto-renewal — what you're agreeing to

Important. Gold and Family-Verified subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current rate shown to you at the time of purchase, unless you cancel. You will be charged through Stripe to the payment method you used at signup. Each renewal continues for the same length as the period you originally chose (a month for monthly plans, a year for annual plans).

Concierge does not auto-renew — it is a one-time charge for a fixed 90-day program.

To be sure the next charge does not slip through, cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. That date is always shown before you confirm and again at any time under Profile → Subscription.

05Cancel anytime

You can cancel from inside the app at Profile → Subscription — no hoops, no phone call, no email required for a standard cancellation.

Cancelling stops all future renewals immediately. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. You can re-subscribe at any time.

Concierge program. Because Concierge is a fixed 90-day program billed once, you may cancel it and request a refund pro-rated to the portion of the program already delivered by emailing admin@mamahala.ca with the subject line "Cancel Concierge."

06Cooling-off — 14 days, wherever you live

Within 14 days of your first paid purchase, you may cancel for a full refund — no reason needed. Just email admin@mamahala.ca with the account email you used, or cancel in-app and follow up by email to request the refund. This 14-day promise applies to every member, anywhere in the world.

Some jurisdictions guarantee a specific statutory cancellation right that is shorter than, or runs differently from, our 14-day promise. Our 14-day promise meets or exceeds those windows and never replaces or reduces any stronger right your local law gives you. Specifically:

  • California (Civil Code §1694 et seq.) — residents may cancel within 3 business days of signing up for a full refund. You may use the subject line "Cancel — California."
  • Illinois (815 ILCS 615, Dating Referral Services Act) — residents may cancel within 3 business days of signup for a full refund. The window extends to 30 days for any plan requiring an upfront payment exceeding US $50.00. Subject line: "Cancel — Illinois."
  • New York (General Business Law §394-c) — residents may cancel within 3 business days of the contract for a pro-rated refund. Subject line: "Cancel — New York."
  • Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia — residents have a 3-business-day cooling-off period for consumer contracts entered into remotely. Subject line: "Cancel — [province]."

Whichever right applies to you, you receive the most favourable outcome between our 14-day promise and your statutory right. Statutory cooling-off refunds are issued promptly — within 10 business days for California, and within 15 days for Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia.

07Refunds after the cooling-off period

Outside the cooling-off windows above, subscription payments are non-refundable for the current billing period, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Cancelling simply stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Any refund we do approve is issued through Stripe to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days. To request a refund outside the cooling-off period, email admin@mamahala.ca with your account email and the reason. A refund, if issued, does not constitute an admission of wrongdoing or agreement with any claim.

For Concierge purchases, refunds outside the cooling-off period are pro-rated to the portion of the 90-day program already delivered.

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws that apply to you, including those of Ontario, Quebec (including the Consumer Protection Act and Law 25), and your home jurisdiction.

08If we end your account

If we suspend or terminate your account for a violation of our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, no refund is owed, except where required by law (for example, the cooling-off windows in Section 6, or other non-waivable consumer rights).

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is always the current one, and we update the "Last updated" date above whenever it changes. If we make a material change to billing, renewal, or refund terms, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance — normally at least 30 days before it takes effect — through one or more channels, such as email, an in-app notice, or a notice on this page.

Because email does not always reach everyone, notice does not depend only on an email reaching you: the updated policy posted here, with a new "Last updated" date, is itself notice to you, whether or not our message reaches your inbox. Please review this policy from time to time — the current version is always available here at amanina.ca/cancellation. Continued use of a paid plan after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms, whether or not you received or read any individual notice. Any change applies only going forward and never reduces a refund right that had already accrued to you.
