For parents

How Amanina works for a parent

Amanina is marriage-intentioned matchmaking for families who marry this way — Arab, African and Central Asian families are all at home in it, as is anyone serious about marriage, whatever their background — and it gives a parent a real place: you open the door, you meet other families first, you hear when something changes. Their journey, their conversations and their decision stay entirely theirs, and every step below happens only with their own yes.

  1. 1You writeA private introduction, in your words.
  2. 2They decideThey read every word, then say yes or no.
  3. 3They open what they chooseA stage word, the counts, a letter — each its own switch.
  4. 4Families meet firstOnly when both families and both children say yes.

You open the door

A mother, a father or a trusted elder opens a family account of their own and writes a private introduction in their own words. We invite your son or daughter warmly, by email; they read every word before deciding. Nothing exists until they say yes, and a no removes everything you wrote, kindly.

You see what they open — and never more

After they begin, you know one thing: that they began. From their own app they can open more, one switch at a time — a word for where they are (setting up, receiving introductions, in a conversation, families talking), how many introductions are waiting and how many conversations are open, and a short letter to you whenever that word changes, never more than once a week. Never a photo, a surname, a message, a name or a score. Closing any of it is theirs, at once, without a word to you.

Families meet first, in the Majlis

If your son or daughter allows family-led search, you see a family view of their current matches — first name, age, city, faith, observance, values — only for families whose own child allowed the same. You knock, you speak family to family, and if both families give their word, each child is asked in their own app. An introduction forms only when both say yes.

A gift they open, a page you carry

You may offer Gold — up to three introductions a day instead of one every other day, more often placed earlier, Mama Hala's practices for couples — for one, three or six months at the app's own prices (CA$24.99, CA$44.97, CA$59.94). Your card is authorized when you offer and charged only when they accept; a decline or six days of silence releases it. And a page for the family, free: their consented introduction on paper, previewed by them, printed by you, with amanina.ca and a code on it so another family can find their way in. Money never changes who they meet.

Where Mama Hala comes in

Amanina is operated by Family Consultant Mama Hala's practice in Ottawa. For the couple ahead, her Pre-Marital Education Program — online, or in person in Ottawa upon availability — is described and booked on mamahala.ca, where its prices are shown; a first 30-minute conversation is arranged there too. A parents' majlis evening in Ottawa is being planned for October, upon availability.

Common questions

Is it free for my son or daughter?
Yes. The introductions and the full read on why two people fit are free for every member; Gold only changes the pace. A parent pays nothing to open a family account, write an introduction, sit in the Majlis or receive the letter.
Who checks that people are real?
Every member passes an identity check and a live selfie before they can speak to anyone, and photos stay blurred until two people both choose to reveal them.
Can I see who they are matched with?
No. You see only what they choose to open — a stage word and counts — never a name, a photo or a message. In the Majlis you meet the other family, not their child.
What if my son or daughter says no to my introduction?
Everything you wrote is removed and you are told, kindly. Nothing was created, and their own account, if they ever open one, starts fresh.
Is it only for Muslims?
No. Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Druze and secular members are all welcome, and each family's own values are honoured rather than ruled on.
